The Selection Committee/Advisory Board and graduate researcher to the MSU Vietnam Group Archive project met this past March at the Association for Asian Studies Conference in San Diego, California. With recommendations from Cindy Nguyen, the Selection Committee of historians Charles Keith, Peter Zinoman, and Edward Miller, identified high-priority documents for digitization. These documents include historical material such as correspondence, military and political charts, and public administration of the MSU Group project. The team hopes that these documents will provide new research perspectives for scholars and also serve as a resource for teaching primary source analysis.
With the completion of Phase One of the project, the Vietnam Group Archive team is currently progressing through the development of metadata schema, initial digitization, and a preliminary public interface. During this phase, Keith, Zinoman, Miller, and Nguyen will also collaborate to create historical content and bibliographical resources for the archive.
